Action Alert: Support Clean Water for All West Virginians!

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) is reviewing our state’s Water Quality Standards for 2025 as part of its Triennial Review. The public comment period closes next Saturday, August 17, 2024.

WVDEP’s proposed updates include adopting only a fraction of the EPA’s recommended criteria for protecting against toxic pollutants. Additionally, new “limited-use” designations for impaired waters risk sidelining efforts to restore our most damaged streams.

We have ONE WEEK to ensure WVDEP continues to prioritize the restoration of impaired waters and adopts ALL necessary safeguards to protect public health. Take action now. →

Please take a moment to learn more about our positions here, and then submit your comment to advocate for stronger protections from toxic chemicals and harmful pollutants.

Thank you for helping to protect our water and communities in the Mountain State.
