LWCF covers West Virginia from top to bottom. The Land and Water Conservation Fund has supported the highest (Spruce Knob) and lowest (Harpers Ferry) places in West Virginia, both of which are on public lands! LWCF has invested $15 million to improve access for climbers, hikers, hunters, and fishermen in the Spruce Knob – Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area, managed as part of the Monongahela National Forest. Seneca Creek Backcountry, North Fork Mountain, and the sandstone heights of Seneca Rocks are truly wild and wonderful icons of West Virginia.
