Urge the EPA to Strengthen PFAS Water Protections

There are nearly 15,000 PFAS compounds, and right now, we need your help to strengthen protections against these harmful chemicals.

PFAS, or “forever chemicals,” are dangerous pollutants known to cause cancer, liver damage, and immune system problems. These toxic chemicals persist in our environment and our bodies, putting the health of West Virginians at risk.

Right now, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is accepting public comments on new water quality guidelines to protect public health from three PFAS chemicals — PFOA, PFOS, and PFBS. The deadline to comment is April 25, 2025.

These guidelines are an important step forward, but EPA must go further to fully protect public health. Tell the EPA to expand protections to include more PFAS chemicals and account for the cumulative risks of exposure.

Thank you for taking action with us today. Together, we can advocate for stronger safeguards for clean water and public health.
