Southern WV Needs Clean Water – Contact Leaders NOW

Wyoming County residents are facing severe water quality issues in the Wolf Pen/Indian Creek area, highlighting a regional water crisis. In McDowell County, communities like Gary, Leckie, and Anawalt suffer from compromised water sources, with residents reporting discolored tap water and relying heavily on bottled water.

Since May 2024, over 2,060 cases of water have been distributed to 280+ homes. Residents often drive up to 20 minutes to collect spring water, and the cost of bottled water exceeds $100 per month for some, impacting one of the poorest counties in America.

We urgently need your help to bring attention to this crisis. Please contact Governor Jim Justice, members of the WV House Committee on Technology & Infrastructure, and your state representatives.

Ask them to declare a State of Emergency to ensure clean water access until the Anawalt public service district project and other necessary clean water infrastructure are fully funded and completed. Click here to send a quick and easy comment. →
