The STREAM Act Passed the Senate – Now it’s Up to the House
Exciting news! The Senate unanimously passed the STREAM Act in mid-December, now it’s headed back to the House for a vote.
The STREAM Act is a popular, bipartisan bill to clean up toxic water pollution from abandoned mines. It sailed through the U.S. House this summer with near unanimous support. After the Senate vote, it needs to be affirmed by the House to become law.
Let’s make sure the West Virginia Office of Abandoned Mine Lands & Reclamation has the flexibility to spend this money on long-term treatment of acid mine drainage through the STREAM Act.
