SB 485 threatens to expands private investments within our state public lands. SB 562 creates an unnecessary state provision that will replace already existing local adopt-a-trail programs. Read a fact sheet on the bills.
Stand up today for our state parks and all state lands. Please contact the members of the Senate Natural Resources Committee before 1:00 p.m. Let them know your concerns about Senate Bill 485 and Senate Bill 562, urge them to protect our public lands, and urge them to vote “NO” on both bills.

HB 4408 is similar to SB 485. It proposes to extend the lease terms for private companies on public lands from 20 years to 50 years, and permit new 50-year private development – all with no controls of what can be built, no public comment and participation opportunities, and no environmental studies of the impact of these private projects. HB 4408 passed the House Natural Resources Committee on February 16, 2022. It is now set on the agenda in the House Government Organization Committee.
