Eastern Panhandle Residents: Find Your Watershed
West Virginia Rivers Coalition has partnered with the City of Martinsburg Stormwater Team to assist them in creating a new digital tool to connect Eastern Panhandle residents with an opportunity to protect their land and water.
The “Find Your Watershed” tool, which covers all of Jefferson, Berkeley, and Morgan Counties, is innovative in providing an opportunity for community members to directly introduce themselves to their local watershed group. Check out an article in the Martinsburg Journal to learn more.
Watershed groups are key to protecting West Virginia’s streams and rivers through stream cleanups, tree plantings, and other events that connect community members through critical conservation actions.
The Eastern Panhandle is very fortunate to have eight active watershed groups serving in these three counties. Yet they all face the same challenge – they need more engaged citizens to step up and volunteer. Now more than ever, these groups need Eastern Panhandle residents to get involved.
If you live in the Eastern Panhandle, all you have to do is “Find Your Watershed” and get connected today. We’re more than happy to make a personal introduction for you!
