LWCF, keeping your picnics dry since 1964. Nobody likes soggy sandwiches, so the Land and Water Conservation Fund has provided $1.7 million for 17 picnic shelters in local parks across the state. One of the more recent LWCF projects in West Virginia funded the construction of the Hilltop Shelter in Clarksburg’s Veterans Memorial Park in 2015. Veterans Memorial Park has benefitted from lots of recent LWCF funding, receiving $357,000 for five separate grants since 2012.
