Time is running out – Tell Senate Judiciary to vote YES on Committee Substitute for SB 708
Time is running out to pass the Committee Substitute for Senate Bill 708 (Com Sub SB708). Any Senate bill must pass the full Senate by next Wednesday, March 4.
This bill requires the Department of Highways to consider whether public access to our wild and wonderful waterways is possible after any new bridge construction or substantial renovation of an existing bridge.
It does not mandate that public access infrastructure be built — only that public access be considered for new bridge construction or renovations.
More River Access Points = More Time on the Water
We all enjoy our waterways. Sadly, many areas lack safe public access. Com Sub SB708 will ensure that access be examined — and then implemented when it is safe and practicable.
One action tells the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee to approve this bill and move it to floor — and tells your two Senators to vote ‘AYE’ on the floor for Com Sub SB708.
We really need you to take this action now. The committee has to meet and approve the bill — and then, the entire Senate has to consider the bill for three days — all by March 4!
Thank you for joining with us to advocate for more public access to our waterways.
See you on the river!
