Tucker County: Big Run Hydro Project Public Meeting on 1/9

The Big Run Pump Storage Hydro Project is a proposed hydroelectric storage facility in Tucker County. As proposed, the facility would impact the Big Run Bog National Natural Landmark; Mill Run, a high quality, naturally reproducing brook trout stream; and Tub Run, an impaired stream that has a $4-million-dollar reclamation investment.A lot of unanswered questions remain on long term water quality impacts.

The parent company, Freedom Works, will be holding a public meeting on the proposed Big Run Pump Storage Hydro Project on Wednesday, January 9 at 6:00 PM at the Tucker County Courthouse in Parsons. Learn more.

View our fact sheet on the project for suggested questions to ask during the meeting.

There is also another meeting related to this project of the Tucker County Development Authority on January 9 at 1pm in the same location. The Development Authority meeting is open to the public, but time for public comment and questions may be limited.
