Happy Birthday LWCF!

Happy Birthday! On this day in 1964, the Land and Water Conservation Fund became law. And in the 54 years since the fund was established, West Virginia has received over $240 million dollars for public lands and recreation. Harpers Ferry National Historical Park has used its share of LWCF funding to preserve threatened Civil War battlefields and the historic John Brown’s Fort. We need to ensure LWCF has many more birthdays to come so we can continue to protect our state’s history.
